Lights and Sirens was founded in 2019 when Shannon Childers recognized the need for helping the public recognize the men and women of emergency service by who they are, what they do, and the skills they provide on a daily basis.
-
The question of where are we going to go with all this was the first thing we wanted to define and in 2020 we created the Four Pillars of Lights and Sirens.
Educate
Education and on going education is vital to those who serve in emergency service. We focus on this by offering education in areas of the nonstop growth and change in the field.
We also help with the cost of those who are wanting to further their education by following in the field of emergency services.
Encourage
The job is hard, and there is no question that when it comes to the mental and physical health of those in emergency service there is always greater a challenge. We want to connect those in need to the opportunities available for improving these important areas so they can truly be who they need in and around their community
Equip
To accomplish the day to day of emergency services the need for resources are great. WE want to make sure that no needs go without, no matter how small or big
Elevate
No question the men and women of emergency service need recognition. Countless hours go into the job, and sometimes the job is never left at work. That is why we want to elevate these men and women more than just the title the job carries but who they are as individuals and heroes.

In 2020 Shannon embarked on this journey by starting a podcast that recognized the men and women of emergency service many great men and women have sat behind the mic and hopefully many more will introduce themselves very soon.
In 2022 Lights and Sirens had its first fundraiser, a Captains Choice Golf Tournament at Brushy Mtn. Golf Course.
2023 Lights and Sirens created their four fold plan to continue their efforts in recognizing the men and women of emergency service by identifying areas of need. Education, Equipping Resources, Encouraging better health mentally and physically, and Elevating the truth to the world on how incredible these men and women are.
The focus on Education began immediately, and by mid May we had given away close to 1,000 dollars to students who have decided to go to college in the fields of emergency service, and we are not done yet! Not only did we have our second annual golf tournament but we will also have our first annual 5K in October, 2023.
